My backyard looked like the toy box had blown up! I know what I'm about to admit is going to be highly frowned upon... considered bribery... and I totally get all that, but still...
I took one look at the suddenly sluggish neighborhood kids along with my very own and shouted, "I'll give you an M&M for every toy you clean up!" And VIOLA! Instantaneously spotless! And it only cost me about 30 M&M's, and the big bonus - I didn't loose my sanity ;)
However, this is a very, VERY rare occasion! I've only used it once before, and basically it's used to bribe neighborhood children... and they think it's a blast. My kids know better... it's a TREAT!

I figure instead of replying to your blog via E-mail, I'll actually post a comment on your blog! Anyway, I love the M&M story. Thanks for the laugh! Your blogs are always entertaining! LOL
It's amazing how that works :) You only have 3.5 more hours before Thankful Thursday becomes Thankful Friday.
I totally support bribery in raising children...there are times when it just gets the job done so much faster!!! Nothing like "sweetening the deal" for the kids! I have been known to set our timer for three minutes for a "power clean-up"...if they helped pick up during the three minutes, they earn an M&M. It really makes 15 minutes of clean-up lots more fun as the kids race around the house, picking up and putting away like little speed demons! Skittles work well, too! ;-D
